Some of the improvements include:

 • The Derivative command (and hence the Tangent Tool) are now working for all functions (rather than just polynomials as before)
 • Integration now works for most common functions (not just polynomials as before)
 • The Spreadsheet is now working for simple copy & paste operations (the spreadsheet tools aren’t implemented yet)
 • Double-click to redefine and the right-click menus now work in the Graphics View
 • There are now more options for loading and saving. As well as uploading directly to GeoGebraTube you can open directly from Google Drive. You can now also save and load .ggb files locally.
 • The Chrome App is now working in the same languages as GeoGebra 4.2, so try it out in your language!

Our development team is continuously working to make GeoGebraWeb better, faster and add more and more functionality of our desktop application. It would be great if you could give us feedback and suggestions in our GeoGebraWeb User Forum.

What is working now:

 • Graphics, algebra, and spreadsheet view
 • Tools and style bar of the graphics view
 • Input bar
 • Open and save ggb files, also with Google Drive

What is coming next in GeoGebraWeb:

 • Right-click menus
 • Properties dialogs
 • CAS view

Dashed lines in HTML5 https://blog.geogebra.org/2012/11/dashed-lines-in-html5/ Sat, 10 Nov 2012 07:29:44 +0000 http://www.geogebra.org/blog/?p=327 ]]> With the release of Chrome 23, 3 out of 4 major browsers now support dashed curves in HTML5:

Safari 5.1.2: FAIL
Safari 6: OK
Chrome 16.0.912.77: FAIL
Chrome 23: OK
Firefox 9: OK (uses mozDash)
IE 9, 10: FAIL
WebKit build 104795: OK

GeoGebra is believed to be the first major web application to make use if this, eg http://www.geogebra.org/web/milestones/dashedCurves.html.

And the GeoGebra developers were instrumental in persuading Google to implement this in Chrome. Visit the Google Code topic to read the whole conversation.

Using GeoGebra on the iPad https://blog.geogebra.org/2012/10/using-geogebra-on-the-ipad/ Tue, 16 Oct 2012 11:19:55 +0000 http://www.geogebra.org/blog/?p=284 ]]> About a month ago we already posted a great video tutorial by Linda. Here is the next in the series. Linda tries to use GeoGebra on the iPad. Of course the real iPad application is coming soon. The question is, can you use your iPad with GeoGebra.

Linda couldn’t wait for the first reelase of the iPad app, she launched the browser and started playing with GeoGebra. See her experiences in the following video.

Did you try using GeoGebra on your iPad or your Android tablet? What are your thoughts?

GeoGebra for tablets https://blog.geogebra.org/2012/10/geogebra-for-tablets/ Fri, 05 Oct 2012 22:14:54 +0000 http://www.geogebra.org/blog/?p=268 ]]> Less than $500 are Only $50 is missing to reach our goal of $10,000 on Kickstarter. More than 200 people have helped to make many more people’s dream come true. GeoGebra is going to be available on the iPad. We hope to reach the minimum amount needed and even more to include even more features in the app. Because we believe in the support of our community and all the new people joining our community through Kickstarter, we have already started the development of the GeoGebra iPad app.

And not just that! The iPad app is just the start. We are already working on an Android app in parallel. So, if you would like to see GeoGebra on Android, please also support this Kickstarter project.

Please have a look at the first alpha version screenshot of our GeoGebra iPad App attached.

Thank you for your support.

Using the Google Chrome App https://blog.geogebra.org/2012/09/using-the-google-chrome-app/ https://blog.geogebra.org/2012/09/using-the-google-chrome-app/#comments Thu, 06 Sep 2012 21:16:09 +0000 http://www.geogebra.org/blog/?p=221 ]]> GeoGebra is availible in the Chrome Web Store. The features of the web version of GeoGebra are listed in the original blog post.

There is only one problem with the Chrome App. In fact, it is not even a real problem, only GeoGebra running in the browser makes things slightly different. The lack of the right click is what I am talking about. If you right click in the browser you get the browser’s option menu. How can we access the GeoGebra functions we know from the desktop version?

Object properties, renaming an object, trace, just to name some of the functions, which were only one click away in the desktop app.

Linda Fahlberg-Stojanovska made a nice video about using the Chrome App. She answers many of these questions.

What do you think? Do you use the Chrome App?
